1978 – Formed the Party JMM at Ranchi Town after Joining High Court and propagaked it through out south Chhotanagpur. Sri Shailendra Mahato, Ex-M.P. Joined JMM in 1978, Arjun Ram Mahato Ex-M.L.A. in 1979, Sadhanu Bhagat in 1978 Saheed Nirmal Mahato, Sudhir Mahato Krishna Mardi Ex-M.P. West Shimbhum, Bhai Halen Kujur Ex-M.L.Etc. of South Chhotanagpur joined after 1978.
10.05.1992 : M.P from Giridih Lok-Sabha in Bye-election in place of Father Binode Bihari Mahato.
09.08.1992 : Separated from Shibu Soren and formed JMM (Mardi) fraction and became General Secretary, with Krishna Mardi as its President with other Nine M.L.A’s of JMM, on issue of support to congress. Oppossed support to Congress and supported and saved the Janta Dal Govt. of Bihar headed by Sri Laloo Prasad.
Oppossed the policy of formation of Jharkhand Area Autonomous Council by Congress and Shibu Soren and Sri Laloo Prasad in stead of a separate Jharkhand state.
05.05.1993 – Dharana at Rajghat Delhi by central committee JMM (Mardi)
07.05.1993 : Called upon by the Honourable President of India to discuss Jharkhand issue. Here also the cause of Separate state was advocated and formation of JAAC was oppossed.
03.09.1993 – Massive Ralley in Patna of JMM (Mardi). Had discussion with Honourable Governor of Bihar.
07.10.1994 Massive Ralley in Calcutta. Had discussion with Honourable Governor of West Bengal on the issue of separate Jharkhand State. Comprising of the than Ajenda 26 districts of South Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh.
23.02.1994 : Dharana at the main entrance of the Parliament by M.P’s. on this day Total Jharkhand area was closed on band call by JMM (Mardi).
Had many discussins with Honourable Home Minister Central Govt., but did not support JAAC.
1995 : Bihar assembly election held JMM (Mardi) fought in about 30 seats alone four seats were won, second in twelve seats.
1996 : Raj Kishore Mahato lost Giridih M.P. election.
1998 : Offered ticket of B.J.P and Samata for Giridih, did not accept as these parties had no clear stand about separate state by that time and they also had supported JAAC.
01.03.1998 : Sri Atal Bihari Bajpai jee made declearation for creation of three new states including Jharkhand.
31.10.1998 : Joined Samata Party to support B.J.P and was made National General Secretary of Samata by the than President Sri George Fernadese and became incharge of Jharkhand and West Bengal.
December 1999 : In M.P. Elections helped B.J.P candidate in Dhanbad and Giridih. Did not fight elections.
2000 – Bihar Assembly Election Nine seats were contested by Samata when Sri Raj Kishore Mahato was incharge of Jharkhand Area and won five seats, remain second in two, Samata became a powerful Party in jharkhand having five Minister in the new State.
2001 – Till 2003 : Chairman Passenger’s Services Committee, Rly. Board under Nitish Kumar Rly. Minister .
2003 – Rajya Sabh election was fought from Jharkhand as Samata Party Candidate, but lost.
December 2004 – Joined B.J.P.
February 2005 – M.L.A from Sindri (B.J.P).

Baghmara Secretary Yogeshwar Mahato (M.L.A., B.J.P Bermo), Secretary Khiru Mahato ( M.L.A. Mandu) and Ex-Secretary Jagarnath Mahato (M.L.A. Dumri), Ex-Member Mathura Prasad Mahato (M.L.A. Tundi) Ex-Secretary Sri Tek Lal Mahato, M.P. Giridih Ex-Office bearer, Arjun Ram Mahato (Ex - M.L.A. Ramgarh) and many other leaders now in different Political Parties. This Trade Union is the back -bone of the Political strength of aforesaid leaders in coal fields.
Sri Mahato is Known as A leader against Displacement in Jharkhand.

Raj Kishore mahato, always
raised the issue of re-inclusion of Kurmi mahato community of the jharkhand region. after creation of newstate of jharkhand, he again started this issue and in the year 2004, december, the b.j.p. govt. of jharkhand state under the leadership of sri arjun munda has sent this proposal to central govt., just before the day, sri mahato joined b.j.p.
the community have 24-25 percent population in the state and sri raj kishore mahato has included this issue in the party constitution of j.m.m. in 1973 and sri mahato is undoubttedly the most popular Leader amongst kurmi. mahato community.
